Road and Traffic Maintenance

Responsible for maintaining 1,600 miles of County roads and infrastructure to ensure safe and accessible travel for residents and visitors.
Responsible for:
- Repair and preserve road surfaces (patching, sealing, chip seal)
- Maintain roadside vegetation and shoulders
- Clean and repair ditches, culverts, and storm drainpipes
- Sweep streets and remove debris
- Maintain 265 bridges, 360 minor structures, 1 ferry landing
- Install and maintain signs, striping, and pavement markings
- Remove leaves seasonally (Nov–Jan)
- Maintain ~36,000 trees along County roadways for clearance and visibility
