Victim Assistance Program

Provides a wide range of services for crime victims, survivors, and witnesses to make their experience with the criminal justice system less traumatic and easier to understand.

Service includes:

• Information is provided in both English and Spanish about the criminal justice process and victim/survivor rights.
• Resource navigation and referrals are offered to community-based and governmental service providers.
• Advocacy includes trauma-informed supportive services for victim/survivors.
• Logistical assistance covers transportation, translation services, and child or dependent care support.
• Accompaniment is provided to emergency medical care, medical forensic exams, law enforcement interviews, and court proceedings.
• Financial intervention involves working with creditors, landlords, or academic institutions and offering emergency financial assistance.
• Emotional support and safety services include in-person and crisis line counseling, safety planning, individual counseling, support groups, and therapy.
• Shelter and housing services assist in finding emergency shelter, safe houses, transitional housing, or relocation options.
• Criminal or civil justice system assistance provides help with victim impact statements, restitution reporting, civil legal support for obtaining protection or restraining orders, family law issues, immigration cases, and other legal matters.
