  • Description: Offers in-home care services to veterans and their surviving spouse through the VA's Aid and Attendance program. 

    Service includes:
    • Bathing and dressing assistance
    • Incontinence and toilet assistance
    • Basic personal hygiene
    • Medication reminders, prescription pick up.
    • Meal preparation
    • Light housekeeping, bed making and linen changing
    • Laundry assistance
    • Grocery shopping and errands, transportation for appointments
    • Walking assistance
    • Companionship and conversation
    • Other services available upon request

    Program Delivery

    • Eligibility: Must meet criteria:
      -65 years of age or older
      -Served at least 90 days of active duty and at least one day during period of war
      -Not able perform activities of daily living
      -Meet income guideline and asset criteria established by VA.
      -Cannot drive
      -Veterans with dishonorable discharge not eligible

      Veterans surviving spouse criteria:
      -Be married to veteran at time of passing
