Northern California Innocence Project (NCIP)

  • Description: Provides individuals with wrongful convictions a chance to have their cases reviewed and investigate.  Initial investigation can take up to 36 months to complete.  Promotes a fair, effective and compassionate criminal justice system and protect the rights of the innocent.  

    When possible, NCIP collaborates with law firms on a pro bono basis to assist with investigation and litigation.

    Program Delivery

    • Eligibility: Potential client must meet all of the criteria: *Person must be innocent of convicted crimes *Substantial new evidence to support claim of innocence *Must have been convicted in Central or Northern California state court of a serious felony
