Freeway Service Patrol (FSP)

Agency: SAN JOAQUIN COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENT (SJCOG)

  • Description: Provides emergency roadside service for San Joaquin County motorists.  Has a roving team of tow trucks that travel on selected San Joaquin County freeways during peak commute hours to assist motorists with car trouble.  Service runs jointly by San Joaquin County of Governments, Caltrans, and the California Highway Patrol.

    Tow trucks are white and have the Freeway Service Patrol logo on the doors. Drivers wear blue uniforms and yellow safety vests with the same FSP logo.

    • Fixing a flat tire
    • Jump starting a dead battery 
    • Towing a disabled vehicle to a safe location off the freeway
    • Clearing debris from a lane of traffic
    • Refilling your radiator
    • Providing a gallon of gasoline if you run out of fuel

  • Hours: FSP services are provided in the following locations and time Interstate 5/205/580 - I-5 Mossdale Road to I-205 W Grantline Road, and I-205 Grantline Road to I-580 Patterson Pass Road *Monday-Friday: 5:30am-9:30am and 2:30pm-6:30pm; Sunday: 11:00am-8:00pm. Interstate 5, State Route 4/99 - I-5 between Eight Mile Road to Charter Way and Charter Way to SR 4 and SR 99, and I-5 between Charter Way to Mossdale Road and Mossdale Road to SR 120 Airport Way *Monday-Friday: 5:30am-9:30amand 2:30pm-6:30pm. State Route 99/120 - SR 99 between Kettleman Lane to Arch Road, and Arch Road to SR 120 Airport Way and Airport Way to SR 99 Main Street *Monday-Friday: 5:30am-9:30am and 2:30pm-6:30pm.
