Pro Per Clinic

  • Description: Provides general information and referrals involving family matters.  Lawyers will review paperwork, if individual have attended a workshop or were given a sample, and give information regarding:
    • Initial orders or modifications for child custody, visitation, child, or spousal support
    • Review of domestic violence, elder abuse and civil harassment restraining orders
    • Initiating an action to establish paternity
    • Responses and responsive declarations
    • Income and expense declarations
    • Emancipations
    • Step-parent adoptions
    • Change of venue
    • Motions to quash and set aside
    • Writs and enforcement of orders
    • Wage garnishment and income withholding orders
    • Grandparent visitation
    • Proofs of service
    • Preparation of judgments and orders
    Workshops in areas of:
    • Dissolution, legal separation, nullity of marriage
    • 1st time custody
    • 1st time visitation
    • Trial preparation
    • Declaration of disclosure
    • Guardianships
    • Conservatorships

    Program Delivery

    • Eligibility: Open to all. Children are not allow in clinic or workshops
    • Languages: Spanish, English
    • Application Process: Walk-in to sign up 1 hour before workshop. 30 participants per class on a first-come first-served basis. The sign-up sheet will be pulled once the maximum number of participants has been reached or 10 minutes prior to the workshop start time. Only parties will be able to attend the workshop, no children and no late arrivals accepted.

    • Required Documents: A pen or pencil to write with, any paperwork you have been served, any court documents from other counties or states relating to the case; Sample packet to attend a document review: Emancipation, Subpoena, Civil Name Change, Step-Parent Adoption, Contempt All Family Law, Limited Civil Small Claims, Unlawful Detainer.
