Sheriff Department

Provides a variety of services to the residents of San Joaquin County.

Civil Division
Provides assistance in serving Evictions, Temporary restraining orders, Earnings withholding orders, and Levies.

Coroner's Office
Investigates deaths in the county, identify the deceased, and to notify the next-of-kin or legal representative. One free copy of the Coroner Report is provided to the immediate next-of-kin. Provides direct cremation assistance for those who qualified. Ashes are available to the family for an additional cost.

Investigation Division
Conducts criminal investigations by photographing, collecting, and storing evidence from the crime scenes. Performs fingerprinting identification and process applicants for various public agencies.

Other Services
Alarm Ordinance, Animal Services, Background Investigations, Dial-A-Ride Program, Concealed Weapons Permits, Police Patrol Services, Towed/Stored Vehicles, and Unified Court Services.
