  • Description: Provides disability benefits for workers who become disabled and survivors benefits for families of deceased workers, as well as retirement benefits for retirees.  Also offers supplemental income payments for individuals over age 65 as well as disabled people of all ages who have very limited income and resources and qualify for services.  Office also issues new or replacement Social Security cards.

    Direct Express card is a prepaid debit card offered to Social Security and Supplemental Security Income check recipients who wish to receive their benefits electronically. The debit card offers the convenience and security of using electronic transactions to spend and access your money rather than using cash for purchases. No bank account is needed to sign up.  No credit check or minimum balance required.
