988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline

  • Description: Provides a national 24-hour suicide prevention hotline to individuals seeking help with suicidal crisis or emotional distress. Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support.

    Program Delivery

    • Eligibility: Anyone in emotional distress, in a crisis situation or suicidal.
    • Languages: English; Spanish; Multi-language Translation Available
    • Application Process: Callers will hear a message saying they have reached the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. They will hear hold music while their call is being routed. They will be helped by a trained crisis worker. They will be given mental health services referrals if needed.
