California Relay Service (CRS) - DIAL 711

  • Description:

    Provides specially trained operators to relay telephone conversations back and forth between people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech-disabled and all those they wish to communicate with by telephone.

    Relay services: TTY, Voice Carry Over (VCO), two-line Voice Carry Over (2LVCO), Hearing Carry Over (HCO), Speech-to-Speech (STS), Visually Assisted Speech-to-Speech (VA STS), ASCII, Voice, Enhanced Voice Carryover (Captioned Telephone or CapTel), and Remote Conference Captioning (RCC). Although not provided through our Relay Service, Internet Protocol Relay (IP Relay), Video Relay Services (VRS), and Web CapTel are also available as federally reimbursed services.

    CRS is governed by California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) Deaf and Disabled Telecommunications Program (DDTP).
