  • Description:

    Works closely with public health agencies and private partners to improve and sustain immunization coverage and to monitor the safety of vaccines so that public health can be consistently maintained at a safe level. 

    Protects the public health through tracking of diseases in the population and preventing vaccine-preventable diseases. 

    Provides investigation of epidemic outbreaks, reporting of cases of infectious diseases to the proper authorities and taking appropriate measures such as isolation and contact tracing/notification to prevent disease transmission.
