Road to Recovery Cancer Patient Services

  • Description: Assists ambulatory cancer patients with ground transportation to and from cancer treatment.  (Cancer patients should be ambulatory; able to walk unassisted to and from the vehicle, their residence, and the treatment facility. If the patient needs assistance walking or requires a walking aid (such as a walker or wheelchair), and is unable to operate the aid by themselves, the patient is required to be accompanied by another person who can provide assistance).  Assists in finding free or low-cost air and hotel travel arrangement for patients and caregivers.

    Also assists with cancer related appearance products as well as information and referral for cancer clients.

    Program Delivery

    • Eligibility: Cancer patients and caregivers. Patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a legally responsible adult such as a parent.
    • Languages: English, Spanish
    • Application Process: Telephone call and provide five business days advance notice to schedule transportation; Provide two weeks advance notice for air and hotel travel arrangement.
