    Provides qualified households discounts on their energy bills.

    California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE)
    Offers income-qualified customers a discount of 20% or more off their monthly energy bill. Discount on gas and electricity.

    Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA)
    Offers a discounted rate on monthly electric bill for families of 3 or more who meets the income guidelines. Monthly discount of 18% on electricity only.

    • Eligibility: *CARE - Must receive at least one of the following Public Assistance Program: -Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) -Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) -CalFresh/SNAP (Food Stamps) -CalWORKs (TANF) or Tribal TANF -Head Start Income Eligible (Tribal Only) -Supplemental Security Income (SSI) -Medi-Cal for Families (Healthy Families A and B) -National School Lunch Program (NSLP) -Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance -Medicaid/Medi-Cal (under age 65) -Medicaid/Medi-Cal (age 65 and over) -Eligibility based on income and household size. or Household Size / Total Combined Annual Income 1-2 people / up to $43,280 or less 3 people / up to $54,640 or less 4 people / up to $66,000 or less 5 people / up to $77,360 or less 6 people / up to $88,720 or less Each additional person, add $11,360 *FERA Eligibility based on income and household size.
